Structural Health Monitoring and Vibration Control is emerging as a vital tool to help structural engineers improve the safety and maintainability of infrastructures. It integrates a wide range of sensing technologies with embedded measurement controllers to acquire as well as analyze real-time data. Advanced systems have been devised to monitor and verify the structural health and performance of large-scale engineering structures such as long span bridges, high-rise buildings and structures under complex loading conditions. It is reckoned that only through effective structural health monitoring and vibration control, it will be possible to safely extend the service lives of existing infrastructures or to construct more daring building structures and bridges.

In this session, a number of established experts will share their knowledge and experience in the latest technologies of Structural Health Monitoring and Vibration Control with special emphasis on applications in construction projects.
